German discount grocery store chain, Lidl, has pulled plans to build a location in Newnan. The store was originally planned to be constructed at a new, multi-use development at Newnan Crossing Boulevard, but the plans were scrapped after Lidl announced it would not be moving forward with the development of several new locations in Georgia.
“Lidl has cancelled its plans to build a store at the location, but we expect another grocery store, or something similar, to be built at Village Square,” said Assistant City Manager Hasco Craver. “It’s a great location, and we are sure it will attract another good business to come to Newnan.”
