Ruby Tuesday has officially closed its LaGrange location as of today. An employee at the restaurant said the closure was abrupt and the staff was given no forewarning.
“We served customers last night as usual, and they called us today and said that we would no longer be open, and that we had to get everything out,” he said.
A statement was issued by ICR, Inc., a company representing Ruby Tuesday, regarding the closure.
“As part of our routine review of our store portfolio, we have made the difficult decision to close our LaGrange, GA restaurant,” the statement read. “We appreciate the dedication of all our team members and the community’s support over the years.”
It is not clear whether Ruby Tuesday plans to reopen at another location in or around LaGrange. A sign on the door of the restaurant announcing the closure encourages customers to visit the chain’s Newnan location.
“We are saddened to see this dining establishment close in LaGrange,” said Barbie Watts, director of promotions and marketing for Downtown LaGrange Development Authority. “The restaurant had been there for quite a while. It’s a wonderful location and hopefully, another restaurant will look at this building.”
The nearest Ruby Tuesday locations are in Newnan and Carrollton.
