    Central High School Senior Earns Top Writing Honors

    (March 6, 2018, Carrollton, Georgia). Central High School senior Carolina Butler was
    named the Young Georgia Author for Carroll County. Young Georgia Authors is an
    essay contest sponsored by the Georgia Council of Teachers of English (GCTE). The
    organization was established in 1923 and has been Georgia’s professional home for
    English Language Arts teachers from pre-K to university levels.
    The purpose of the Young Georgia Authors (YGA) writing competition is to encourage
    students to develop enthusiasm for and expertise in their writing, to provide context tocelebrate their writing successes, and to recognize students achievement in arts and
    academics. The YGA has been engaging Georgia students for more than two decades
    and is open to any student currently enrolled in Georgia public schools, grades K-12.
    Carolina’s English teacher is English Department Chair, Ms. Stephanie Trumble.
