Bay Springs Middle School Students Win First Place at State Technology Fair

Press Release from Charity Aaron, Director of Partnerships and Communication for Carroll County Schools

(March 26, 2018, Carrollton, Georgia) Two students from Bay Springs Middle School recently won first place at the State of Georgia Technology Fair. Cole Williams and Nick Goolsby earned their first place finish in Digital Game Design. The two students used the software program of their choice in order to demonstrate creativity, originality, and interactivity. They were then required to provide an explanation to the judges of what inspired their game idea and how they programmed their game to achieve project goals.

Digital Game Design provides students with the opportunity to exercise and hone a number of skills that transfer to other content areas and disciplines: research, problem-solving, writing, storyboarding, digital content creation and software coding. Jennifer Brewer, Bay Springs Middle School Media Specialist, sponsored Williams and Goolsby in the competition.
