A new bait and tackle shop recently opened on Highway 78 near Villa Rica. Tim’s Bait and Tackle is located at 1536 East Highway 78 next to Tim’s Auto Service.

Tim Summerville says he got the idea to open the business from his 13-year-old son, Lane.

“I was fishing with my son, and I asked him what he wanted to do when he got older,” said Tim. “He said he wanted to run a bait and tackle shop.”

Tim says he had always thought about opening a bait and tackle shop, and finally decided to go forward with the idea.

“I’ve owned the auto shop for several years now, but I’ve always wanted to open up a bait shop,” said Tim. “It just seemed like the right time to do it.”

Tim says he hopes to compete with other local bait and tackle retailers in the area. His store is currently stocked with some items, but he hopes to add more inventory in the near future.

“It will take a few months to get everything stocked up, but we plan to carry quality bait and tackle at affordable prices,” said Tim. “We’re looking forward to helping people find what they want and make them happy.”
