(Carrollton, Ga. – April 20, 2018) Carroll County School System is pleased to announce that LaTonya Jones has been named Principal of Whitesburg Elementary School for the 2018-2019 school year. Mrs. Jones has more than 15 years of experience as an educator and instructional leader. She most recently served as Assistant Principal of Woodward Elementary School in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
Mrs. Jones earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Georgia State University, a master’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix and a specialist in Educational Leadership from Kennesaw State University. Additionally, she is a member of the Professional Association of Educators, the American Association of School Administrators and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.
Mrs. Jones also enjoys giving back to the community through volunteer service with the Atlanta Community Food Bank and the Kennesaw State Odyssey Peer Mentoring Program.”I am extremely excited to join the Carroll County School System family and become the leader of Whitesburg Elementary School,” stated Mrs. Jones. “Whitesburg Elementary has a history of providing the very best opportunities to students, parents and staff.
