A new restaurant is set to open this summer inside Carrollton’s historic Maple Street Mansion. Heaven’s Kitchen at the Mansion is set to host a soft opening in July before hosting a larger, grand opening celebration which will take place on August 16.

According to Angelica Reese, owner, Heaven’s Kitchen will be a family restaurant that offers southern cuisine and soul food.

“Our family owns a small chain of restaurants in the Atlanta area called Big Daddy’s Soul Food,” said Reese. “We have decided to branch off from that and start our own restaurant that offers a  bit more upscale dining experience.”

Reese said her family derived the name “Heaven’s Kitchen” from one of their favorite television shows, Hell’s Kitchen with Gordon Ramsay.

Reese said that Heaven’s Kitchen will serve as a restaurant, but will also offer event hosting, wedding parties, and a catering service.

In addition to the restaurant, construction on a new shopping center was recently finished near the Maple Street Mansion. May Lin, owner of the Mansion property, said she hopes to soon find businesses to fill the shopping center.

“My goal is to find a good restaurant for a 5,000-square-foot space, and nail, spa, and hair salon, as well as a boutique store,” said May Lin.
