A major event space in Carrollton will soon have more convenient parking. Weather permitting, work is expected to begin on the second phase of the UWG Campus Center parking lot. The first phase consisting of 45 parking spaces was completed last summer where the old Georgia Power substation existed in front of the existing tennis courts. The second phase, to be built where the current tennis courts are, calls for an additional 140 parking spaces which includes a number of accessible spaces, and will also feature covered access to the Campus Center ballrooms and patio and new green space. According to UWG’s Master Plan, new tournament-quality tennis courts to replace the ones being demolished will be built at the Athletic Complex in the future.
