The Housing Authority of the City of Carrollton will be hosting its 4th Annual Fatherhood Initiative Event scheduled for Saturday, June 16, 2018.
“The mission of the 4th Annual Fatherhood Initiative Event is to provide a day of family- friendly games and other fun activities, while delivering a wide variety of community resources to help strengthen, empower, and improve the quality of life for Carroll County families. Families will be connected with local community partners in the area of health, education, self-sufficiency, and economic empowerment as well as other beneficial opportunities to encourage stronger, healthier families,” stated Brandy Marenco, Public Housing Manager.
This year’s event will focus on celebrating “Superstar” fathers and mothers alike and the positive impact they have in the lives of their children and the community as a whole.
“This event builds upon a longstanding effort by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to involve fathers in the lives of their children. This year, the focus has expanded to include mothers, children, and parents of all kinds. We understand that strong, healthy families and communities are essential to the growth and development of a child. This event aims to facilitate new and foster existing relationships with fathers and their children, as well as provide support to enhance family bonds,” said Marenco.
The event is free and open to the public. It will be held at Legends West Park in Carrollton from 12:00 P. M. – 3:00 P.M. There are an expected 300+ attendees from the local community to be at the event.
