Big News for Newnan Hotdog Lovers

(Last Updated On: August 2, 2018)

A new restaurant in Newnan specializes in one of America’s most favorite quick meals—hotdogs. The idea for Harley’s Hotdogs, located at 525 Pine Road in Newnan near Great South Harley-Davidson, was inspired by a retired couple’s love for the famous American motorcycle brand.

“My husband and I are retired,” said Dawn Hodges, who owns the restaurant with her husband.
“Rick is a retired fire chief, and I’m a retired higher education administrator. We were looking for a new venture.”

Dawn said her husband is a natural entrepreneur and sold a successful business called Moreland Mulch three years ago. Rick said he planned to one day open a hotdog restaurant in the space next to Dollar General.

“The beauty shop moved out earlier this year, and Rick jumped on it,” said Dawn. “We named it Harley Hotdogs because we have ridden Harley’s for many years. Also, we are just down the road from Great South Harley Davidson dealership.”

The new restaurant opened in June and specializes in every kind of hotdogs one can imagine along with a variety of toppings.

“We sell all-beef hotdogs, regular sized and footlong,” said Dawn. “The toppings are chili, cheese, slaw, jalapeños, kraut, onions, tomatoes. And, of course, mustard and ketchup. We sell chips, slaw, baked beans, and potato salad. A popular item is our Frito pie. Best sellers are chili and slaw dogs. We sell Coke products and sweet tea.”

Harley Hotdogs is located at the corners of Highways 16 and 29 next to Dollar General and just off Interstate 85 on exit 41. The restaurant is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

“We provide a friendly environment and have great employees,” said Dawn. “Most of our orders are take-out, but we do have dine in with full-service and a big screen TV. We’re looking forward to watching some good football games soon! Like us on Facebook at Harley Hotdogs.
