(August 2, 2018, Carrollton, Georgia). Central High School faculty selected Ashley Hart as their 2020 Teacher of the Year. Ms. Hart is a member of the Science Department and teaches Biology and Zoology. She is Central High School’s Girls Head Soccer Coach and was named 2018 5-AAAA All Region Coach of the Year.
Prior to joining the Central High School faculty in 2011, Ms. Hart was the Georgia Southern University Head Women’s Soccer Coach. She coached for seven (7) years and then joined Teach for America; an organization that places teachers in low-income or rural areas that have trouble finding teachers. Teach for America placed Ashley at Hampton High School where she taught Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Environmental Science for the next five (5) years
Ashley Hart earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Carolina at Asheville, North Carolina in 1999, and earned her Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction in 2017 from Arkansas State University. She is both honored and humbled to be chosen to represent Central High School as Teacher of the Year.
