    UWG Reads the Constitution

The University of West Georgia’s Ingram Library, American Democracy Project, and Department of Political Science proudly announce the 2018 celebration of our nation’s founding document.

On September 17, 2018, UWG will hold the inaugural reading of the Constitution on our campus. The celebration will begin at noon with a live reading of the U.S. Constitution by faculty, staff, students, and community members. Anyone wishing to volunteer to read a section of the Constitution is welcome.

The live reading of the Constitution is a reminder of the continuing importance of the document 229 years after its ratification.
This event will also kickoff of the American Democracy Project’s ALL IN campaign, a national cooperative of universities competing to register the most voters on their campuses. A registration table will be available for anyone wishing to become a Georgia voter. The ALL IN campaign will continue through the 2018 elections in November, as part of an effort to register, inform, and mobilize young people into political action through the ballot box.
