All Aboard the Pine Mountain Gold Museum Ghost Train

    The City Menus

The Pine Mountain Gold Museum is once again hosting what has become a local favorite for Halloween adventurers—The Ghost Train. The Ghost Train began on September 27 and will continue every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night through the remainder of the month until October 27.

This year’s theme is “Dark Tales.” Onboard the train, you will travel through several different horror scenes filled with angry and vengeful ghosts and ghouls that haunt the wooded hillsides of Pine Mountain Gold Museum.

Museum directors have designed the ride to be scary for both families with young children, and adults. Pine Mountain Gold Museum has designated 6:30-7:30 p.m. each night the train runs to be “Family Time.” This time is designed with younger riders and their families in mind and is much less frightening than the later, more terrifying Ghost Train’s main attraction.

“We understand that families want to bring their kids out and enjoy something fun with them during the Halloween season, so we made sure to design a portion of each night that is designated for families, an adventure that won’t be disturbing for kids,” says Wesley Berninger, museum manager. “As the night goes on, the ride gets more intense and scarier.”

Following the designated Family Time, the Ghost Train’s “Scare Time” begins at 7:30 p.m. Wesley says Scare Time is meant to be frightening, and is intended for families, or groups that do not have young or overly sensitive children. Please consider these options before purchasing your tickets—tickets are non-refundable!

    Seating Is limited!

“In years prior, people could only purchase tickets by calling our museum office and requesting them,” says Wesley. “We had so many calls last year that our phone system actually crashed. This year we’ve made it possible for people to purchase tickets online.”

Reservations are not required, but, without a reservation we cannot guarantee you will be seated. Making a reservation or purchasing your tickets in advance will ensure that you avoid long waits and sold-out dates! PMGM now offers easy online ticketing for all dates.

After you purchase your ticket, remember to be on site at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled boarding time. Arriving early allows enough time to ensure that you get checked in and receive your paper tickets. Each ticket corresponds to a specific date and time. The ticket is only valid for the date and time listed on your reservation. You must have your paper ticket to board the train!
