Grand Ole Opry Icon to Sing From His Catalog of Hit Songs

    John Conlee

Seeing Legend John Conlee at Mill Town Music Hall on Friday, November 9 will not give you the “Friday Night Blues”

Country music legend John Conlee, along with his distinctive and recognizable voice, returns to the Mill Town Music Hall stage on Friday, November 9, at 7:30 pm EST. During the years 1978 – 2004, Conlee charted a total of 32 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts and recorded 11 studio albums. The Country River Band will be the opening act. Mill Town Music Hall focuses on family-friendly music and events and is located conveniently off I-20 in Bremen (1031 Alabama Avenue).

Conlee was born and raised in the farmland area of Kentucky. This made a deep impression on him, and he credits it as the reason he is active in Family Farm Defense and Farm Aid along with Willie Nelson. His first career hit was “Rose Colored Glasses” in 1978. The hits then kept coming, including 14 top 10 hits in addition to seven #1 hits, which include: “Lady Lay Down,” “Backside of Thirty,” “Common Man,” “I’m Only in it for the Love,” “As Long as I’m Rockin’ with You,” “Got My Heart Set on You” and “In My Eyes.” Conlee has released two emotional singles over the past several years. The first, “Walkin’ Behind the Star,” is a tribute song to those who keep us safe in America and the second, “Bread and Water,” is a story of redemption.
