A massive new dog spa and resort is planned to be constructed in the Thomas Crossroads area of Sharpsburg at Bailey Station. A rezoning was granted by the Coweta County Board of Commissioners on October 16 for Pet Paradise Resort and Day Spa.
Pet Paradise Resort and Day Spa is a Florida-based company that offers luxury pet boarding and daycare for dogs and cats. Plans submitted to the County show that Pet Paradise will have a large, bone-shaped swimming pool for pets, as well as extended-stay wings in which pets will be pampered and taken care of by professional groomers. The resort will also feature large outdoor play areas for four-legged friends to enjoy.
“I know that their goal is to get the preliminary plans done as soon as possible and get them submitted to our Development Review team to start the process,” said Angela White, Assistant Director of Coweta County Development. “The last conversation I had with them was they were hoping to get plans in to start the process in November/December.”
County officials said this development is not related to Pet’s Paradise, which is an existing business located in Newnan.
According to the Pet Paradise website, the company originally opened in 2002 and has since grown to more than 35 locations throughout the southern United States. Visit the Pet Paradise website here for more information.
