The Carroll County Board of Education approved the hiring of Dr. Jessica Ainsworth as Assistant Superintendent of School Performance. Dr. Ainsworth will assume her new position upon the retirement of Dr. Dana Harman in June 2019.

“We are fortunate to have such a highly-qualified, experienced candidate to continue to lead the strategic initiatives put in place by Dr. Harman and her team,” said Scott Cowart, Superintendent of Carroll County School System. “Dr. Ainsworth brings a wealth of experience at multiple levels of leadership and has been recognized at the state and national level for her accomplishments in school improvement and strategic planning.”

Dr. Ainsworth began her career in education at Villa Rica High School sixteen years ago. Since that time, she has gained experience in the classroom as well as in administrative roles, including serving as an Assistant Principal, Principal, Educational Evaluator, and Director of Assessment in the Douglas County School System. Dr. Ainsworth earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Georgia State University, a master’s degree in education from the University of West Georgia, a specialist in special education from Jacksonville State University, a degree in educational leadership, and a doctorate in school improvement both from the University of West Georgia. She has also served on numerous leadership committees for professional organizations and has been recognized as a state and national Assistant Principal of the Year. Dr. Ainsworth was named a Top Ten Young Professional by the Douglas County Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on the Douglas County Steering Committee to increase economic prosperity and improve quality of life for the community.

Dr. Ainsworth stated, “My family and I are excited to return to Carroll County and the Carroll County School System! It is an honor to be selected to work with an amazing team that has a clear purpose to serve students each day.”
