Discount Retailer Closing 159 Stores: Two Regional Locations Affected

Discount retailer Fred’s announced Thursday, April 11, that they would be closing 159 stores across thirteen states and that liquidation sales would start immediately at the affected locations. Most closures are slated for stores in the southeast region, including two within our regional coverage area–1544 Greenbrier Lane in Anniston and 550 North Main Street in Cedartown. All impacted stores are expected to close by the end of May 2019.
