Strap into your rocket ships, Wolves! Prepare you and your family to blast off for an “Out of This World” Homecoming and A Day of Giving Celebration this October. Our galaxy-wide lineup of fun events for all will have you seeing stars!

Festivities launch on Thursday, Oct. 17, with the 37th annual A Day Breakfast from 8-11:30 a.m. in the lower level of Z6. Join faculty, staff, Mr. and Miss A Day, and community members as we announce our latest numbers and celebrate the progress of the A Day campaign.

The fun of Homecoming begins with a Glow Parade Thursday, Oct. 17, on the UWG campus. Line the streets of UWG for a celestial evening. The parade starts at The Coliseum at 7:30 p.m. and rockets all the way to the Village.

On Friday, Oct. 18, join the stellar 5K run benefiting need-based scholarships that create cosmic journeys and stories for UWG students. A run for the stars takes place at 6 p.m. at Love Valley. Also starting at 6 p.m., you can celebrate the meteoric rise of the 37th annual A Day with a beer tasting. Make a landing here on the Campus Center Patio after you complete the Presidential 5K. Admission is $10.

Get ready for something dreamy and be a part of celebrating UWG traditions with our third annual campus bonfire. Help us get ready to spark a bright glow over Love Valley. The fun begins at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18.

Homecoming events for Saturday, Oct. 19, begin with a 9:45 a.m. check-in for the “Beverages and Browsing” in Special Collections celebration at the Ingram Library Special Collections Research Room. From 10-11 a.m., sip mimosas while seeing the highlights of university and regional history materials held by Ingram Library’s Special Collections.

Ready to park your starship for some tailgating fun? Meet at the UWG Alumni tailgate tent outside University Stadium for our annual Chicken and Waffles event at 11:30 a.m. Enjoy great food and fellowship, and reunite with old friends from across the universe as you get ready to cheer on the Wolves.

From noon to 2 p.m., join us for the “Back Like We Never Left NPHC” Homecoming tailgate party. Celebrate UWG’s NPHC Greek Alumni Sorority and Fraternity history. Ingram Library’s Special Collections will share info about its “YOLO: Your Organization Lives On at UWG” program. Donations of materials from your fraternity and sorority will be gladly accepted onsite.

Ready to launch into the main event? Cheer on the Wolves as we soar past the West Florida Argonauts starting at 2 p.m. Enjoy UWG’s Marching Band and the crowning of the new homecoming king and queen. They are sure to be an astronomical pair!

And don’t forget, A Day to Give West is part of the 2019 Homecoming week celebrations again this year.

And be sure to join us for the sixth annual Presidential Gala. We call it “Starry Night: Reaching for the Stars.” Connect with the UWG community as we celebrate our 37th annual day of giving! Your gift matters – every gift, no matter the size, helps support our students and furthers our mission. Give back today and celebrate with us during a day at Homecoming. The star-studded gala takes place Saturday, Oct. 19, at 6 p.m. in the Campus Center Ballroom. Registration is required, so please visit westga.edu/gala for more information.
