Central High School’s Darius Smiley Named 5-AAAA Athletic Director of the Year

Central High School Head Football Coach and Athletic Director was honored this week by his peers and colleagues. Darius Smiley was named 5-AAAA Athletic Director of the Year, an honor awarded by other Region 5-AAAA Athletic Directors. 

Coach Smiley oversees wrestling, basketball, baseball, soccer, track, tennis, golf, and gymnastics during spring semester. This is his 3rd year in the head football coach position with Central High School. 

Principal Jared Griffis stated, “Coach Smiley is very deserving of this award. I am proud that others, outside of this school, have recognized his work. We are grateful that Coach Smiley is at Central High and can influence so many students’ lives in the roles he fills for us.”

Darius is married to Bridgett and has two children, C.J. and Emery.

Linda has been a Carroll County Schools educator since 1995 and currently serves as Central High School’s Media Specialist. In addition, she is a certified fitness instructor with One Life Atlanta Fitness and teaches part-time with the University of West Georgia.
