A conditional use permit was approved on December 3 by the Carroll County Board of Commissioners for Verizon Wireless to construct a 235-foot telecommunications tower at 2187 Highway 16 near Stillwater Plantation, just west of Whitesburg.

The conditional use permit mentions in detail the positive impact of expanded cell coverage. It states, “The new telecommunications facility will benefit the residences and consumers located in and around 2187 Highway 16 by providing additional capacity and coverage for their telecommunication devices.”

Recently, the Carroll County Board of Commissioners also approved another conditional use permit for a Verizon Wireless tower near the triangle in Carrollton off Highway 166.
