Central High School FFA members participated in Speaking Career Development Events (CDE) at the Sub-Area 1 Georgia FFA Competition with agriculture instructor, Ms. Laura Williford.

Carson Pratt competed in his first CDE with a 6th place win in the Creed Speaking Competition. He memorized and recited the National FFA Creed, as well as answered questions about the validity and impact of the creed with today’s youth.

Alexa Wagner placed 3rd in the Extemporaneous Public Speaking Competition – a first for Central High School. Students were given 30 minutes to create a 5 to 7-minute speech about a topic (unknown before arriving on-site) relating to agriculture’s impact on the trade agreements with the U.S. and Cuba.

Charlee Causey excelled in the Senior Prepared Public Speaking Competition. She developed a 6 to 8-minute speech on the impact of wheat research as it pertains to overcoming gluten allergies. Charlee advances to the Area Competition in March.
