Hibachi Express located at 530 Bankhead Highway in Carrollton caught fire around 9 o’clock this evening. Upon The City Menus’ arrival at the scene of the fire, officials had extinguished the flames and there was not any visible damage to the exterior of the building. At press time, it was unclear whether anyone was inside when the fire began and the cause of the fire remains undetermined.
The restaurant will remain closed until further notice. As of 9:30 this evening one lane of Bankhead Highway was closed for emergency personnel. Those traveling along Bankhead Highway should exercise caution and be prepared for delays as officials direct traffic around the incident.
The restaurant first opened in October 2016 in the former location of Long John Silver’s.
