Drain Collapse on Georgia 14 Near Grantville Causes Full Road Closure Through Tomorrow Morning

A washout caused by a collapsed drain on Georgia 14 at milepost 0.8, in between the Coweta-Heard Road and Calico Loop intersections near Grantville, has prompted a full roadway closure at the site while repairs are underway.

Georgia DOT maintenance crews have been dispatched to the area and have closed off traffic in both directions, installing a detour around the work zone. They believe the work will continue overnight until about 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, Mar. 18, 2020.

Motorists are urged to find alternate routes to avoid the area, or to follow the signage for the temporary detour route. Drivers should moderate their speeds and drive with caution through the detour route. 

When: Closure in effect immediately and at least to 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, Mar. 18, 2020

Where: Georgia 14 at milepost 0.8, in between the Coweta-Heard Road intersection and the Calico Loop intersection, near Grantville in Coweta County, Georgia
