Tanner’s Positive COVID-19 Tests Exceed 100 with March 27 Update

(Last Updated On: March 27, 2020)

Tanner Health System is releasing regular COVID-19 test updates to help our community stay informed about the spread of this virus.

These numbers also underscore the importance of social distancing. Your continued cooperation is vital in our efforts to slow the spread and flatten the curve of Coronavirus 2019.

As of 10:25 a.m. on March 27, 2020:

Positive test results: 124

Positive inpatient cases:

  • Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton: 22
  • Tanner Medical Center/Villa Rica: 10

There have been 933 COVID-19 tests adinistered, with 155 awaiting independent outside lab results. Fifteen percent of the tests we have received have been positive for COVID-19, underscoring the importance of social distancing and sheltering at home. The total number of positive tests represent 16% of total tests administered.

The numbers reported by Tanner reflect cases that have been tested and/or treated within our health system, regardless of the county of patient origin. Since Tanner serves patients beyond our counties’ public health district, the numbers may not precisely match figures from Georgia DPH and Alabama Public Health. In addition, the state health departments may receive figures from non-Tanner providers that aren’t reported through the health system.
