For nearly twenty-four years the Salvation Army Family Store has served the human need in Carrollton. Now, with new guidance in place for retail stores, the location at 115 Lake Carroll Boulevard has updated the inside of their store to accommodate customers. Director Roberta Woolbright tells us, “We now have one point of store entry, which is our side entrance. Once customers arrive, they can stop at our sanitizing station before shopping.”
Throughout the store carpet place cards advise shoppers to stay more than 6 feet from each other, and furniture is rearranged so that those navigating the store can be spaced out. A sneeze guard has been added to the checkout counter. Roberta also notes, “We are still doing services during this time to assist with clothes and food, and financial assistance is still available.”
Recently Salvation Army completed renovations to their backstock storage area as new flooring was installed and new wood was laid to brace it.
Salvation Army Family Store is open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and is located next to Sit and Sleep just off Bankhead Highway.
This week, May 10-17, is National Salvation Army Week, which highlights and celebrates all of their volunteers, donors, and program beneficiaries who have enabled the Salvation Army to serve in the USA for 140 years.
