Fireworks and music will fill the air over the Carrollton City Schools campus this July 4, in honor of our nation’s birthday.
The evening’s festivities will kick off at 8:30 p.m. with the Carroll Symphony Orchestra’s Sounds of Liberty concert on the front lawn of Carrollton Elementary School and culminate with the city’s fireworks show, just after dark. Spectators can watch the show in person while practicing social distancing (families should allow six feet between themselves and others) or tune-in to B92 FM and enjoy from their car or a vantage point near the schools complex.
The fireworks show will feature primarily high-altitude pyrotechnics which can be seen from a greater distance. The CSO will follow enhanced safety guidelines, including using a larger stage that allows greater spacing between musicians, checking the musicians’ temperatures before performing and wearing masks prior to the concert.
The Evening Sertoma Club’s annual People’s Parade through downtown was canceled this year to comply with the state’s social distancing guidelines for gatherings.
