ATLANTA – The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) contractors will install overnight lane closures on I-20 at Post Road in Douglas County this weekend. The closures are related to continuing repairs and rehabilitation of the Post Road Bridge over I-20.
Weather and on-site conditions permitting, these are the scheduled closures on I-20 in proximity of the Post Road exit:
- Two right lanes will be closed on I-20 westbound beginning 10:00 p.m. on Friday, November 13 through 4:00 a.m. on Saturday;
- Two right lanes will be closed on I-20 eastbound beginning 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 14 through 4:00 a.m. on Sunday;
- Two right lanes will be closed on I-20 eastbound beginning 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 15 until 4:00 a.m. on Monday. Â
Bridge rehabilitation includes raising the structures’ vertical clearance, bridge deck preservation (with polymer overlay), painting of steel beams, joint replacement where necessary and stabilizing the superstructures and substructures.
Motorists will be alerted of the closures by signage, cones and barrels in the area.
