Two Intersections Between Carrollton and Villa Rica Undergoing Improvements

Two intersections between Carrollton and Villa Rica are undergoing some improvements. According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, a right turn lane is being added from southbound on Highway 61 (Carrollton-Villa Rica Highway) onto Hominy Creek Road, just north of the Sand Hill area. Additionally, a right turn lane is also being installed from northbound Highway 166 (Bankhead Highway) onto Maple Hill Road, just before “The Triangle” where Highways 166 and 61 meet. Construction has begun at both intersections, but there’s no word on when either project will be completed.
