Spring is coming and that means even more people will be out running to maintain their health and fulfill their need for some social interaction.  Two people in our community of Carrollton aim to make your running activity fun, safe, and more comfortable. Husband and wife team Christin and Tyler Woodard are opening a new store in March called SoleRoots Running Company at 150 Maple Crossing in Carrollton. Their focus is to offer something entirely different for Carrollton and featuring great proximity to the Greenbelt, an 16.3-mile loop built for walking, running, or cycling. “Running keeps your body younger and healthier. It relieves stress and produces endorphins — the “feel good” chemical your body produces when you exercise,” Christin and Tyler say.

SoleRoots Running, as its name suggests, offers a wide selection of excellent running shoes, as well as men’s and women’s athletic apparel. They also offer sports nutrition products–including Nuun, Spring Energy, and CLIF sports bars and gels, Tailwind sport hydration drinks and endurance fuel. These products are aimed primarily at runners, and walkers. The Running store will also offer a variety of socks, hats, stretching aids, insoles, Garmin watches, and similar products. SoleRoots intends to be your one-stop store for all active-movement sports enthusiasts. For example, when you are trying on shoes, they offer a personalized shoe fitting through gait analysis and an all-in-one foot scanner that determines the exact arch and foot pressure points to get you the best fit. Their brands are some of the best in the industry: Brooks, Mizuno, Altra, Saucony, On Running shoes, and more.

Christin and Tyler also offer private coaching sessions. Inquire at the store or online to set up a time. Tyler ran cross-country for the University of West Georgia from 2003-2005 and together they helped found The West Georgia Track Club and served as the first vice president and president. They have both enjoyed running ever since. Christin is an R.N. at the Tanner Medical Center in the cardiac unit and also an experienced runner. Both husband and wife are fully qualified and excited to answer all your running and walking questions.
