butter’dudder: Providing Sweet Treats to All of West Georgia

With the weather heating up, nothing is more refreshing than a cool, tasty treat. Butter’dudder can help you quench that craving this summer with their premium homemade ice cream! Butter’dudder is a family-owned and operated company based in Bremen at 205 Davis Boulevard. Originating in Boston, the Rafferty family began migrating to Georgia in 1995, and more than 20 years later here in Georgia butter’dudder became a reality for them. They specialize in making premium ice cream with only the best, locally-sourced ingredients.

Their famous ice cream can be found at several locations across the West Georgia area. They have other locations at 207 Adamson Square in Carrollton and in the Milltown Music Hall concert venue in Bremen. Recently, they have partnered with other businesses throughout the West Georgia and East Alabama area. “You can now find us at Thriftown Grocery in Bremen, Georgia; Sarah Ann’s Bakery in Heflin, Alabama;  Dugger Mountain Fudge & Coffee Company in Piedmont, Alabama; Wild Boar Sandwich Shop in Dallas, Georgia; and at the UWG Bookstore!” said Jim Rafferty. “We plan to grow by adding shops in West Georgia and beyond as opportunities arise.”

Collaboration has been key to the growth of butter’dudder. Working with other businesses for them to be able to carry butter’dudder products has benefited both parties. “It has happened when the owners visited one of our shops. They were impressed with the quality of our ice cream and felt that we would be a beneficial addition to their shops,” said Mike Rafferty. “When approached by other businesses, we meet with each of them to determine if there are mutually beneficial reasons to start a business-to-business relationship.” Jim added, “In some cases, we have begun to sell our partners’ products at butter’dudder, creating ‘win/win’ situations with our business partners.”

Fan favorite flavors at butter’dudder include Vietnamese Coffee Oreo, which is their number one fan-fav.  Others include Banana Pudding, Butter Brickle, Brown Butter Brownie, and Biscoff Cookie. Additional spring and summer flavors will include the Printer’s Ale Root Beer Float (root beer sorbet swirled with french vanilla ice cream) and Peaches ‘n Cream.
