The Carrollton Jazz Orchestra’s concert, Masters Tribute, on May 2, will honor past legends of the genre and debut unique new compositions. “This high-energy concert will feature works by Chick Corea, Sammy Nestico, Woody Herman and others,” said CJO pianist, Terry Lowry. “The CJO features some of the finest jazz musicians in the Southeast. Whether you are a life-long lover of jazz or a casual listener, this Masters Tribute will be an evening you’ll never forget!”
The orchestra will also debut several contemporary compositions, composed and arranged specifically for the group.
“Talent abounds in this program,” said Arts Superintendent Tim Chapman. “Carrollton is so fortunate to have these musicians perform together to bring jazz to our community. This is what sets our city apart from other municipalities in Georgia.” Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for youth (12 and younger) and can be purchased online at https://cprcad.myboxoffice.us/, by phone at (770) 838-1083 or at the Center for the Arts box office at 251 Alabama Street in Carrollton.
