Do you remember her? Bella Coffee that is. In 2009 Bella opened at Westover Square and was originally owned by Dawn Cook who just recently relaunched the coffee shop by the Regal Cinemas. She says, “Bella Coffee is a love affair really. I decided to launch her again because I was unable to travel to Italy for two years. I go yearly until COVID hit.” Dawn has already begun to import wine and olive oil from Tuscany. She adds, “We will be adding wine to our offerings with Bella after Dark soon, which include Tapas and hor dourves with Italian wines. A perfect setting for casual get-togethers with friends.”
Bella Coffee has also partnered with several local small businesses to carry their items, such as earrings from Southern Clay Collection, Crazy Sox from James Schiller, as well as Candles by Jazzy. Dawn mentions, “It is important to me to include other businesses in our retail area. It is about paying it forward.” Bella gives a percentage of their sales to a charity called Hear My Voice for abused children, which is Dawn’s charity she owns and operates.
The coffee shop also serves ice cream, a great complement to their coffee. The prices are $3.00 for a single scoop with a waffle cone and a double for $4.95. You will find their delicious homemade chicken salad, egg salad, and pimento cheese by the scoop with crackers or on croissants from $3.99 to $5.49. Dawn happily says, “Again affordable for everyone to enjoy. We will add seasonal items as well.” Soon customers can order right from their mobile phone and pull up to a reserved spot for curbside service. A drive thru kiosk will be added, too, very soon.
A grand opening celebration is set for this Saturday, May 15 starting at 8:00 a.m. There will be raffles for anyone spending $10.00, which include one entry and if you spend $20.00 you will get 5 entries into the giveaway!
