Carroll County School System hosted a recognition ceremony today for the Valedictorians and Salutatorians from all five high schools. Dr. Brendan Kelly, President of the University of West Georgia, delivered an inspirational address on the importance of preparing for college life through engagement and connectedness.
“Congratulations to these premier students! We are honored to celebrate their academic success and wish them all the best as they begin the next chapter of their lives,” stated Scott Cowart, Superintendent of Carroll County School System.
Valedictorians
Reagan Thompson is this year’s Valedictorian for Bowdon High School. She plans to attend Georgia Tech and major in Biomedical Engineering.
Naomi Norbraten represents Central High School as the Valedictorian. She is attending Yale University this fall and will major in Biomolecular Engineering.
Aaron Hanson is Mount Zion High School’s Valedictorian for the Class of 2021. He plans to major in Computer Science at the University of West Georgia.
Joshua Mitchell is this year’s Valedictorian for Temple High School. He plans to attend Georgia Tech and pursue a degree in Computer Engineering.
Mary Armstrong represents Villa Rica High School as the Valedictorian. She is attending the University of South Florida to pursue a degree in Mass Communications and Dance.
Salutatorians
Emily Stone is this year’s Salutatorian for Bowdon High School. She plans to attend Georgia Tech and major in Industrial Engineering.
Nathan Handley represents Central High School as the Salutatorian. He will attend Georgia Tech this fall and is planning to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering.
Alex Nguyen is Mount Zion High School’s Salutatorian. He is planning to pursue a degree in Computer Science at Kennesaw State University.
Savannah Tingen is this year’s Salutatorian for Temple High School. She plans to attend the University of West Georgia and pursue a degree in Accounting.
Ethan Knox represents Villa Rica High School as the Salutatorian. He will be attending Georgia Tech and plans to major in Electrical Engineering.
“It is a privilege to recognize these students for their hard work and dedication,” shared Dr. Jessica Ainsworth, Assistant Superintendent of School Performance. “We are very proud to have been part of their educational journey and are excited to see their continued success.”
