Rock Salt Milk Bar, the famous Newnan sweet shop specializing in homemade ice cream, and cookies is opening up a second location in Senoia! After being approached by a few business owners about opening a second location, Brent and April Anderson with the Senoia Coffee Company came to owner Cindy Hendricks with an interesting concept. “They had a ‘mess hall’ or food court idea,” said Cindy. “From that point, the decision was pretty much made that we wanted to go there.”
After a few months of planning and working out lease agreements and other logistics, the second Rock Salt Location opened September 17. Although it is a little bit smaller than their original Newnan location, you can expect the same great flavors, products and services that people have fallen in love with at the Newnan Location. “I feel like it is the perfect location for us to be able to expand without being too overwhelmed,” said Cindy.
The Senoia location has 16 rotating flavors, so there is sure to be a sweet treat to make your palette happy. Rock Salt has a number of standard ice cream flavors like Vanilla Bean, Chocolate Brownie and Coffee, and they also like to push the envelope with their flavors releasing special limited edition or seasonal flavors. “Right now we have fall flavors like Pumpkin Spice and Butterscotch Pie” said Cindy. “Just about everything is homemade in house, we even make our own cones from scratch.”
The Senoia location can be found at 30 Main Street next to the Bike Shop. There are still other spaces available for lease in the food court, so it is exciting to see how it will grow. Rock Salt accepts specialty pre orders from large quantities of ice cream, family cobblers or ice cream cakes. “We ask for at least a week’s notice for pre-orders,” said Cindy.
Rock Salt can be found on Facebook and Instagram @RockSaltMilkBar and can be reached at 770-683-3578. The new location’s hours are as follows: 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, and are closed Monday and Tuesday.
“We just want to thank everybody for the support and encouragement who helped us get started, and thank you to the community for coming out and showing up,” Cindy concluded. “And remember to tell your friends!”
