Carrollton’s Target Store Expecting Food Avenue Conversion

Construction is expected to start on a replacement grab and go based area for Carrollton’s Target store located at McIntosh Plaza. Plans were released to us which show a 1,500-square-foot renovation for the former café, a.k.a. Food Avenue. During the pandemic this area has been used for Target’s Drive-Up service. Most likely the café will feature a new grab and go pick-up area that includes slushies, popcorn, and drinks. A similar concept recently wrapped up at Opelika’s TigerTown store.

Construction is expected to begin in April of 2022. A spokesperson tells us that hiring will begin sometime in the beginning of next year for the construction project. Bids recently went out for contractors. In addition to the new grab and go area, the original Food Avenue will be closed in and house the drive-up fulfillment area as well. We will keep you posted on this.

*Unrelated note, T-Mobile closes the McIntosh Plaza location. Currently they are located next to Aspen Dental adjacent to Home Depot
