Myrra Phillips Awarded a Memorial Scholarship

Central High School senior Myrra Phillips was awarded a memorial scholarship earlier today. The Retired Ladies of Central High School presented her with a check for $600 to help with her plans to attend the University of West Georgia. Myrra’s intent is to complete her degree in education and become a certified math teacher.

The Retired Ladies of Central High School was represented by Ms. Nita Burns and Ms. Kathy Akers. Ms. Burns is a former Consumer Science teacher and department chair and Ms. Akers coordinated special education services for students at Central High School.

The Retired Ladies of Central High School gave the scholarship award in memory of the late Carolyn Little, a former Central High School math teacher and long-time member of the group.
