Candle Wick Book Company Opening in Mid April

Laura Meredith is fulfilling a life-long dream of owning and operating a bookstore in Newnan. The long-time educator and book lover is setting up the cozy and comfortable bookstore called Candle Wick Book Company right off the square at 13 W. Washington Street. She is located behind The Hug Box and you can reach her through their front door, or Candle Wick’s front door around the corner on Brown Street.

You will want to check out this sweet little book-lover’s paradise that will stock books for children, young adults, fiction, non-fiction, and cookbooks. The charming chintz sofa and chairs, along with the coffee bar, will entice customers to stop and visit for a while. “The mission of my store is to create more connections in Newnan–between customers, neighbors, book lovers, and authors,” Laura said. “Well, that, and to set a fire inside children to love reading from their earliest years. Just like a candle wick imparts warm light into a room, so do books impart light to a person’s soul.” Laura will continue hosting book clubs, which you will need to sign up for, and a storytime for children, along with other events.

There was a Sneak Peak during the Art Walk on March 25-26, and the Grand Opening is on Saturday, April 16. Make a note to stop by, meet Laura, and soak in the ambient light of this “bookstore around the corner.” To learn more visit them on Facebook by clicking here.
