The Bremen City School Board is pleased to announce that Shannon Christian is the sole finalist to be the next Superintendent of Bremen City Schools. Mr. Christian said “This is an opportunity of a lifetime to be able to work with the students, staff, parents and community of Bremen City Schools. My wife Teryn, our daughter Kathryn, and I are excited about joining the Bremen community. BCS has a long tradition of excellence, and I appreciate the confidence the Board of Education has placed in me to help continue and improve upon that level of excellence.”
Mr. Christian comes to BCS with 24 years of experience in education. His extensive experience includes being a teacher, assistant principal, principal, executive director of operations, assistant superintendent, and chief financial officer. He is currently chief financial officer with the Lumpkin County School System and has served in that role since 2018. Mr. Christian previously worked in the Butts County School System and with Carroll County Schools.
The Bremen School Board is excited to welcome Shannon Christian to the school district. There was an exhaustive search with 20 applicants. Chairman Vann Pelt stated, “We were fortunate to have such quality people to apply to be superintendent. The board and I were impressed with the quality of educators who we interviewed. After much deliberation and prayer, we believe Mr. Christian has the knowledge and experience to lead our school system into the future.”
Mr. Christian will join the Bremen school system and community this summer with an official start date of July 1, 2022.
