This article has been updated to reflect the announcement of Publix. We originally reported it as unknown at the time in May. Several updates have also been included to reflect the openings of several businesses in the LaGrange area.

LaGrange and Troup County are full of optimism, especially with new retail and restaurant projects underway. Grading recently began for a grocery-anchored shopping center off Vernon Street (Hwy 109) at Hills and Dales Farm Road.

Moving to downtown LaGrange, a new Waffle House opened at 501 Vernon Street near Greenwood, and Bubble Tea & Ice Cream is opening in the former space of Cheesy Mac/Frios next to Your Pie Pizza. Sweet Roast recently was purchased by another business owner in town and will be converted into Cafe Brulee, a desert bar. (Now Open)

On South Davis Road at Hogansville Road, Dollar General will soon open, and across the street mixed-use development Crossvine Village has recently put up signage. Heirloom Donuts should be opening soon in the former space of Wilshire Bank/Bank of Hope across from the LaGrange Mall.

At the LaGrange Mall, STAYapt is finishing their extended stay hotel construction, GameStop closed at the mall, and KAY Jewelers has moved to an outparcel space next to Chicken Salad Chick. Sonic will soon be under construction in the same area.
