NORFOLK, Va. – Petty Officer 1st Class Evan Blane, a native of Newnan, Georgia, serves the U.S. Navy assigned to Airborne Command and Control Squadron 120 supporting the E-2D carrier airborne early warning aircraft, known as the Hawkeye.

Blane joined the Navy eight years ago. Today, Blane serves as an aviation structural mechanic.

“I joined because I was a chef and I wanted a change of career,” said Blane. “I wanted more stability.”

Growing up in Newnan, Blane attended East Coweta High School and graduated in 2003. Today, Blane relies upon skills and values similar to those found in Newnan to succeed in the military.
