West Georgia Technical College’s Foundation has recognized Georgia State Representative Randy Nix as the recipient of the Foundation’s inaugural “Time, Talent and Treasure” Award.
The award was presented in front of a crowd of more than 250 guests in attendance at the college’s annual Black Tie & Boots event on Friday, September 16.
“So many individuals and organizations give in ways that cannot be measured in dollars, and tonight’s recipient exemplifies that in every single way,” remarked Dr. Julie Post, President of West Georgia Technical College. “This individual has been a long standing, never ending supporter of education but more importantly for us – he’s supported technical education and West Georgia Tech consistently.”
Rep. Nix who represents portions of Carroll, Heard and Troup counties in the Georgia House of Representatives has previously served on the Foundation’s Board.
“I am extremely honored to receive this award,” said Rep. Nix. “I truly believe in technical education and it’s great to see the success we’re having, the outstanding students, the workforce development and to see the community come together. This is where we are really united, and I am just proud to be a part of it.”
