City of LaGrange employee Jeff Snellgrove honored for 25 years of dedicated service

The City of LaGrange is honoring Jeff Snellgrove for his dedicated 25 years of service. Snellgrove currently works in the Telecommunications Department as a Senior Telecom Technician.

Snellgrove received his 25-year service pin at the regular LaGrange City Council meeting Tuesday (11/8) night.

Snellgrove started his career with the City of LaGrange in 1997 as a Network Technician. By 2000, the City had received the “Intelligent City of the Year” award for its initiative to provide all citizens with internet access. Jeff played an integral part in building the fiber network that the City was honored for creating. This network now has more than 350 miles of fiber and serves almost 1000 businesses with voice, data, and internet services. Snellgrove was promoted to Telecom Technician II and has been Senior Telecom Technician since 2013.

Throughout the years, Jeff has continued his education to stay current with new technologies taking classes in Networking, Terawave Lucent, Calix, Prim Power, Cisco, M4, and Metaswitch. He obtained his CompTIA Network+ certification in 2010. As he progressed through his career, he has taken on additional responsibilities of mentoring and training new employees and now represents the City of LaGrange Telecom at the GA811 local chapter and manages all utilities locates and updates. Jeff has been a devoted and valuable member of the Telecom team for the past 25 years.
