Carrollton High School Choral and Band Directors Julie Lowry and Chris Carr take a selfie with their talented students behind them following last Thursday’s joint holiday program “Christmas at the Movies,” a tribute to holiday favorites from the big screen and other classics, including “Once Upon a December” from Anastasia, “Holly Jolly Christmas” from Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, and “Holiday Road” from Christmas Vacation. Early in the program, Performing Arts Director Tommy Cox narrated “ ’Twas the Night Before Christmas,” accompanied by sound effects produced by the band, and a crowd favorite was “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” the classic holiday song and animated film by Mariah Carey. The collaboration between the two programs has become a CHS Christmas tradition.
