Sweetland Amphitheatre General Manager Brent Gibbs officially started his position Monday, December 5th.
Gibbs has more than twenty-five years of experience in the music industry. In 1995, he began his career in Nashville primarily tour managing for contemporary Christian artists. His opportunities grew over time and he has served as a manager, agent, accountant, consultant, production manager and tour manager for various artists from many genres including Chris Young, Kristin Chenoweth, Sugarland, CeCe Winans, best-selling author Dave Ramsey to name a few.
“I am happy to be a part of Sweetland because it’s a fixture in and of the community. LaGrange offers so much to its constituents, and Sweetland Amphitheatre is a primary tool for the city to engage people in a non-governmental way. To be a part of producing world-class entertainment and events for our citizens is inspiring. The venue is in wonderful condition and I am quite sure that a team is in place to do something special here.”
In his role as Sweetland General Manager, Gibbs will help develop, coordinate, direct and implement a comprehensive strategy to ensure Sweetland Amphitheatre is one of the most highly regarded music venues in the region.
“Sweetland Amphitheatre is such a treasure for our community and we are beyond excited to welcome Brent and his family to LaGrange,” said Marketing/Communications Manager Katie Mercer Van Schoor. “In just a short amount of time, he has already managed to secure quite an impressive lineup for 2023. It’s going to be an amazing year.”
Gibbs and his wife Kara have two sons and will be living in LaGrange. Jake and Henry are excited to make friends and memories growing up in a smaller southern town. In addition to being around Sweetland Amphitheatre, they are anxious to explore and experience West Point Lake.
