The month of March is Women’s History Month, and to celebrate, 11 influential women from the local area were invited to join a panel discussion hosted by the Carrollton High School debate team to celebrate women’s roles in the Carrollton community. The speakers represented a variety of sectors, including government, industry, healthcare, and education. Each panelist was a leader in the community with unique roles and advice to share. Although each woman was asked a specific question about their experiences in the workplace, the panel came together as a whole to create a unified message. They shared the importance of respect, reciprocity, and self-advocating in professional and personal situations. The diverse perspective brought by every panel member catalyzed a call to action for students, inspiring them to advocate for an equitable world.
