City of LaGrange to hold Monthly Litter Cleanup

The City of LaGrange is holding its next monthly litter cleanup event Saturday, February 4th, 8-10 a.m. We will meet in the parking lot of the new Moss and Wood Park at 118 Brown Street.

The group will be picking up litter in the surrounding area. This is a family-friendly event and is free and open to the public. The city will provide vests, trash bags, and gloves. The community partner for this month’s litter pickup is Confidence Missionary Baptist Church.

City Manager Meg Kelsey began this litter cleanup campaign in April 2018 hoping to send a message to the community that the City of LaGrange is serious about cleaning up our community. This initial event was so successful the city decided to begin hosting monthly litter pickups.

The City of LaGrange will be hosting the following litter cleanups in 2022-2023:

Saturday, February 4th, 8:00-10:00 a.m. LaGrange Fire Department Headquarters, 115 Hill Street.

Saturday, March 4th, 8:00-10:00 a.m. Piggly Wiggly parking lot, 505 South Greenwood Street.

Friday, April 21st, City-wide cleanup LLBTWFI 8AM-1PM

To participate in these events simply show up. All supplies will be provided.

Any organization wanting to partner with the City of LaGrange on any of these events please contact Parks Director Michael Coniglio at [email protected].
