Central High School senior Darby Burns has been awarded a $1,000 National Beta Club Scholarship.
The National Beta Scholarship Review Committed has selected Darby as one of 257 National Beta Scholarship recipients from more than 3,100 applicants. Beta Club is founded on the mission of promoting the ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership among elementary and secondary school students. Central High School’s Beta Club chapter is involved in both community and school-based service projects throughout the year. Club sponsor is Ms. Liz Beverly.
Darby has been a member of Beta Club since her induction ceremony during her 10th grade year. She will be attending the University of Georgia in the fall and is the daughter of Tracy and Johnathan Burns of Carrollton.
