Central High School earns Literary Region Runner-Up

Central High School participated in the Region Literary competition earning Region Runner-Up. Olivia Vande Kerkhoff was awarded 1st Place in Girls’ Solo and Logan Robinson was awarded 1st Place in Boys’ Solo. The quartet of Logan Robinson, Reagan Latham, Harrison Prince, and Caidence Brown earned 1st Place for a Quartet. Laney Duffey was awarded 2nd Place in Argumentative Essay, Anna Eddleman was awarded 2nd Place in Rhetorical Essay, and Catherine Simmons was awarded 3rd Place in Personal Essay.

The trio of Julia Thompson, Allee Adams, and Olivia Vande Kerkhoff earned 3rd Place in Girls’ Trio. Dylan Mount took 4th Place in International Extemporaneous Speaking, Aaron Roebuck came in 4th Place in Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking, and the team of Hunter Johnson and Jessica Messex came in 4th Place in Duo Interpretation.

Students earning 1st Place on the region level will travel to state competition this upcoming weekend.

Literary coordinating teachers are Central High School Chorus teacher Ms. Ruthie Phillips, and Central High School English teacher Ms. Abbey Mason.
