LaGrange Mayor Willie T. Edmondson formerly introduced the new LaGrange Police Chief and LaGrange Fire Chief in a media conference this afternoon.
Garrett Fiveash officially accepted the position of the new LaGrange Police Chief. He plans to begin his new role Monday, April 17th. Fiveash has 28 years of experience in law enforcement, and 27 years at the Georgia State Patrol. He began his career in 1994 as a driver’s license examiner and worked his way up to Captain in 2019. He became the Director of Training for the Department of Public Safety where he oversaw the training of 1100 employees. He retired in July 2022 and continued to teach law enforcement at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth. Fiveash currently lives in Macon but plans to move to LaGrange with his wife and daughter.
Willie Bradfield officially accepted the position of the new LaGrange Fire Chief. He plans to begin his role Thursday, April 13th. Bradfield has been with the LaGrange Fire Department since 1999. He began as a firefighter in 1999 and worked his way up to the position of Deputy Chief in 2013. In the past ten years as Deputy Chief, Bradfield secured his Georgia Fire Chief Certification, Fire Department Administration Training, and Fire Department Executive Training. He was also instrumental in helping the department achieve accreditation from the Commission on Fire Accreditation International, or C.F.A.I., and acquire an ISO rating of 2.
