An upcoming Crye-Leike Realty event will be renovating your belief that Millennials and Gen-Zers don’t have a chance for achieving a hallmark of the American Dream: home ownership. The realty brokerage will be hosting an all-in-one event, appropriately called “How to Make a House Your Home” because the event will not only open their REALTORS® to the public for home ownership conversations but also local businesses that can assist with your home-purchasing journey.

Rob Smith of Crye-Leike (pronounced “cry-like”) counters the notion that home ownership isn’t in the cards right now by presenting some data he’s noticed throughout his career in real estate.

“In 1981 interest rates [on a home loan] were 17%,” he shares. “Now, interest rates are hovering over 5-6%.” He also adds that when economics change, as they inevitably do, you can always refinance.

Not only will the “How To Make a House Your Home” event guide you along the searching and closing process, but they’ll assist all the moments in between. To get you connected to helpful services that’ll make your home-buying journey as seamless as possible, the event will be hosting local experts MaryLynn Meyer from Community Mortgage, Don O’Shields from Frontline Inspection, Phil Blair with Allstate Insurance, and Iman Jenkins with Century Complete Home Builders.

But why trust Crye-Leike above other real estate brokers?

“Me, Scott, Delilah, we all live here,” Rob points out. “You’re getting a team that knows the area. Our brokerage as a whole sold over 8.9 billion dollars’ worth of property in 2022 alone. That’s 25,000 homes.”

Rob also points out that Villa Rica will be booming in the next few years. The city has approved over five thousand building permits, some of which will be along Punkintown road near the Mirror Lake community. Pedestrian infrastructure will also connect this area to downtown Villa Rica. He adds that the exciting part is witnessing young people fill those neighborhoods and help shape the surrounding area.

Rob shares a story that may inspire young adults to reach for the stars, “One of the greatest joys in my real estate career [happened] when this young man came to me [a few years ago] interested in buying a home. He was responsible for his minor sister at the time, and he couldn’t have been older than twenty. I got him connected with a mortgage lender, and he cleaned up his credit. Two years later, after working hard to get everything in order, he closed on his house.”

Even if you’re not planning on buying a house this month or even this year, Crye-Leike Realty wants to help realize your home-buying dreams by informing you of the latest developments and streamlining the steps along the way.

Swing by the Crye-Leike Realty office at 354 West Bankhead Highway in Villa Rica on April 15th anytime from 10:00 A. M. to 2:00 P. M. to speak with local REALTORS, and custom home builders – all free of charge. You can even bring the kids along for face painting, games and coloring books, and refreshments. And there will be local vendors with gifts perfect for your new home!

Home ownership is in the cards! Rob Smith and his colleagues are eager to share home-buying options with you so you can settle into your dream home.
